Production 101 question

From: John Davis
Date: Feb 01, 2005 17:16 GMT

I know that this is probably a stupid question but stupid is as stupid
does...

For Drum tracks i.e Drums High Hats etc...
Is there a basic layout for a typical house track and what samples are used.

I mean it were to be drawn out
E.g. 2bars
- - - - - - - -
Kick X X X X
Snare?
HH?
???
???
???

I'm not looking for trade secrets or anything, I am just wondering what
types samples are typically used.

I ask only because I hear some common sounds in tracks that I am having a
very hard time identifying (To me it sounds like a HH but I cant determine
what kind)

Does type of question even make sense I ask.

Thanks,
John

"MAC OS X Midi Services not available"

I use a USB Midi interface for a Power MAC G5. Its been working great
for months. I started Logic 6 and I got the above error message. I
went to the "Audio Midi Setup" application and tried to have the
computer find the interface and the app crashes. I've tried different
USB ports and reinstalling the driver....nothing seems to work.
